Andrew Stocking

Andrew Stocking, Ph.D., is CEO and President of Principle Business Enterprises, Inc. (PBE), an Ohio-based manufacturer of high-performance incontinence care, footwear safety and specialty absorbent products. Founded in 1961 by his grandmother, PBE is a family-owned company that Andrew now leads as its third generation. Prior to joining PBE, Andrew held a succession of roles in both the private sector and federal government, including serving as Senior Advisor for Economics and Energy Security at the Department of Energy and as a Market Design Economist at the Congressional Budget Office. In these roles, he sponsored work in energy security, clean transportation, renewable energy, electricity markets, and environmental cap and trade programs. Andrew has written and published research spanning environmental and healthcare economics, covering topics such as auction design, oil and gas development, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Chinese trade policy, electricity markets, prescription drug benefits, Medicare, and healthcare competition.

Committed to American manufacturing in the Midwest, Andrew is passionate about uplifting the lives of PBE’s Customers and Associates and is actively engaged in community outreach efforts. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a PhD in Resource Economics from the University of Maryland. Andrew has also taught economics at both the University of Maryland and at the Schmidthorst College of Business at Bowling Green State University.
