On December 3rd, partners including Susie’s Coats for Kids, Hannah’s Socks, Designetics, Care for Kids, Bags of Love, the Historic South Initiative, the Toledo Zoo, the Knights of Columbus, and Metroparks Toledo will come together at Escuela SMART Academy for a day of giving and celebration.
During the event, local children will receive new coats and essential items while enjoying fun, engaging activities designed to spread warmth and holiday cheer. Volunteers and community partners will also share resources and gifts that help families throughout the winter season, continuing a tradition of generosity and collaboration that began in previous years.

Unlike typical shelters offering short-term accommodations in dormitory settings, Bethany House stands as the sole domestic violence shelter in the Toledo area providing long-term, apartment-style transitional housing. Since its inception in 1984, Bethany House has supported over 2,000 individuals, offering more than 300,000 nights of secure shelter for those fleeing domestic abuse within our community.

On Sunday, November 5 from 12-3 p.m., Toledo-area residents are invited to attend the fourth annual coat collection event benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo and Susie’s Coats. Join us for food, fun and philanthropy!
Toledo residents and surrounding communities, you’re invited to the second annual Care for Kids Coat Drive fall collection event on November 5, 2023, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Location to be determined.
Event Details
Supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo and Susie’s Coats, the Care for Kids Coat Drive is a charitable initiative focused on providing warmth and care to local children in need. Join us on November 5 for a day filled with food, fun and philanthropy for all.
We encourage attendees to bring new, gender-neutral coats (children’s sizes 7/8 through adult large) for donation. Several food trucks will be on-site, offering delicious treats and refreshments.
Our Goal
Our goal, as always, is to fill the truck provided by Dave White Chevrolet! Last year we set a goal to collect 1,000 coats—and we surpassed that number by 335. This year, we’re aiming for 2,000 coats to be collected, and we’re challenging YOU to help us get there.
