Connecting Kids To Meals
As President & CEO of Connecting Kids To Meals, Inc. (CKM), Wendi Huntley guides her nonprofit organization in providing hot, nutritious meals at no cost to at-risk kids ages 18 and under who are in low income and underserved areas of NW Ohio. CKM partners with schools, libraries, community centers, afterschool programs, homeless shelters, summer sites and other places where kids gather. During her 9 year tenure, Ms. Huntley has been and is responsible for development, community engagement, marketing, brand management and expansion initiatives. CKM provided nearly 600,000 healthy meals to kids last year, and has been feeding hungry kids for over 20 years.
Wendi is also an accomplished attorney with over 30 years in corporate, litigation, intellectual property, sports and entertainment law. After working for a large law firm in Columbus, Ohio, she established her own firm, SPEC Group, representing clients across the U.S.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Ms. Huntley earned her undergraduate Degree from Bowling Green State University and her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State College of Law.
Wendi is active volunteering in the community and has received numerous awards of distinction. To name a few, in 2023, she was inducted into the Notre Dame Academy (Toledo) Alumni Hall of Fame for Leadership and Service. She has been selected as a member of a 2023 National Cohort for Share Our Strength/No Kid Hungry Campaign, and she was a Leadership Ohio Class of 2022 Fellow. Wendi has received the Outstanding Community Responder (COVID-19) by the Association of Fundraising Professionals NWOH Chapter, and was a 2020 Recipient of the YWCA of Greater NWOH’s MileStones Award among other accolades. Ms. Huntley serves as the Chair of the HOPE Toledo Board of Directors, and is on the Board of Directors for Mercy Health Toledo, Mobile Meals, and HEIRS CCC (Charlotte, N.C.)
