Director, UToledo Family Business Center
As Director of the UToledo Family Business Center, Angie Jones is passionate about helping family businesses thrive — not only for the benefit of the families who own them, but because strong family businesses help create strong communities. Growing up in a second-generation family business herself, Angie understands the unique opportunities and challenges that come with working with family, maintaining healthy relationships, communicating effectively, and navigating the many dynamics that make family businesses different from other businesses.
Angie is particularly passionate about the role family businesses play in the communities they call home. She believes that supporting family businesses means supporting local communities, preserving the character and history of the region, creating opportunities for the next generation, and building a stronger Toledo.
Angie received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and her Master of Business Administration from The University of Toledo. She spent 13 years working in marketing before joining the UToledo Family Business Center in 2012. In addition to leading the Center, she teaches Entrepreneurship and Family Business at The University of Toledo.
Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Angie is proud to have built her career around supporting the family businesses that help make the region unique. She currently lives in the Toledo area with her husband and their two children, both current UToledo Rockets!
